概要: Learning new vocabulary, new phrases and practicing speaking them in real life context.
受講条件: Student must be willing to learn and practice speaking. Should have pen and notebook or an iPad or personal computer for taking notes.
詳細: Simple beginner lessons for people who have very little English speaking skills. We would learn new vocabulary, phrases and practice speaking them in real life context. Practicing speaking is important so we will practice speaking and conversations in real life situations. Japanese would only be used to help students understanding where it is difficult to understand English as this is a beginners course.

英語:Reading and listening practice

概要: Choosing a book, Teacher reads the book whilst student listens and student does same.
受講条件: Students must come with a willingness to read and also listen to the teacher read and share what they understand from the text. Student can bring along a writing notebook or tablet (iPad) or personal computer to take notes.
詳細: Teacher will recommend some books and then the student together with the teacher will decide on a book based on these recommendations. Depending on the volume of the book, we may do more lessons than stated in the number of lessons. We will take the book chapter by chapter and at least one or more pages per lesson depending on the speed of the student.
In this lesson, the teacher will first read a paragraph and get the student to share their understanding of the paragraph. Then the student will read the paragraph by themselves with the teachers help where they have a difficulty and they will also share how they understand the paragraph after reading it by themselves. We will continue this cycle with little bits of discussions and corrections in between until we reach the goal of each lesson. Each lesson will have it’s own goal.

概要: Conversation style, Teacher speaks or used an audio book and student listens.
受講条件: Student must be conversant with English.
Student should be able to speak English at an intermediate level to be able to follow through this lesson.
Student can bring a pen and notebook or an iPad or a personal computer or a smartphone to take notes whilst listening.
詳細: This lesson will be either a conversational style lesson or an audio based lesson.

In the conversational style lesson, the teacher will do most of the talking whilst the student listens and shares feedback by explaining what they understood from what the teacher said. Students will also share what they found difficult. In case of pronunciation differences, student will practice speaking and listening to different pronunciations in different accents with the teacher.
In the audio based style lesson, the teacher will use an audio book and both the student and teacher will listen and only the student will share their understanding or thoughts from the audiobook they listened to. In cases where it is difficult to understand the teacher will play the audiobook and repeat it to the student in an easy to hear accent and then get the students feedback. After this the student will listen to the same part of the audiobook and try to understand it in the accent of the reader. Thank you

概要: Teacher speaks whilst student writes and Teacher plays a lecture or audiobook whilst student writes.
受講条件: Student should have pens and notebooks or preferably an iPad or personal computer or a smartphone for taking notes.
詳細: This course is a two in one course where the student practices listening and writing at the same time.

The Teacher speaks based on a transcript she has whilst student writes what they hear. Or, the Teacher would play a lecture or audiobook whilst student writes what they hear. The teacher will then check the students written or typed text to confirm they heard the right thing and then correct any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. We will repeat this process again to help the student practice listening and writing more.

The speed of speaking will be slowed down if the student is having difficulties listening due to the speed of speech.

In cases where it is difficult for students, teacher would change to a simpler lesson of teaching students to write new vocabulary and phrases.

英語:Overseas Internship Planning

概要: Application documents preparation, Preparing for interview, Visa application and other processes.
受講条件: Student must have already decided to embark on an internship overseas. It would be preferable if the student has already decided on the institution or company or University they will like to do an internship at. I can adjust the lesson based on the students decision stage and help with searching and deciding on the institution but that would be an additional lesson. Also, students should have either a personal computer or an iPad for typing letters and filling application forms where necessary.
詳細: As part of the course, I will help students to decide or choose an institution for their internship in the case where they have multiple options or have not decided (additional lesson). I will help students prepare their application documents for the internship and any interview. After approval we can move on to applying for the Visa where it is done only in English) and any other processes needed for the trip.
I will also help the student learn and practice how to make presentations in English. Student will also learn vocabulary and new phrases needed for the trip.

概要: What to look out for when proofreading, grammatical errors and repeating proofreading.
受講条件: Students must have a document they would like to proofread. Students must have both printed copies of the document and word or pdf document on their iPad or personal computer or smartphone.
Having Pens and highlighters would be good as well.
詳細: Lesson would cover what to look out for during proofreading, the grammatical errors and when to summarize certain points. Removal of redundant sections and doing proofreading at least more than once. Teacher will explain all of these in the first half of the lessons and then the student will practice doing these with the teacher to gain practical experience.
